Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) can occur anytime, to anyone, at any place, and may threaten the patient’s life if appropriate CPR and/or electrical shock with a defibrillator are not applied within a few minutes.
The device is a semi-automated external defibrillator that can be used on sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) patients. The AED automatically reads the SCA patient’s ECG and determines if a cardiac arrest requiring defibrillation has occurred, allowing licensed medical professionals and the general public to easily operate it.
